"Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in all circumstances."

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

My Dear Readers:

I hope this devotional finds you all happy and well on this Thanksgiving day. I will be spending the day with my partner and friends, giving thanks for the wonderful blessings God has bestowed on my life. You, my friends, are part of my thanksgiving. Your letters of support, your letters expressing your joys, and concerns, have touched me through the years and made the job of putting Whosoever together much more enjoyable. I thank God for each and every one of you.

As we all know, holidays are sometimes hard for those in our community. Family schisms are revisited, old hurts brought back to the surface, and bad memories are sometimes wallowed in at this time of hte year. Paul's words speak to us in these times. We are to rejoice always, pray constantly and give thanks in all circumstances. I know some of you are going through hurtful times, and are feeling less than hopeful about your future. Know, my brothers and sisters, that God is with you, especially in the bad times. It's hard to find things to be thankful for in situations like these, but we are called to try. We are called to give thanks to God when times are good and when they are not.

If times are good for you right now, I urge you to head to our prayer page and lift up your hurting brothers and sisters in prayer. If you're in a place where it's hard to find anything to be thankful for, send us your prayer requests so we can agree with you in prayer about what miracles you need to see in your life. You also may find it helpful to pray for others on the list as well, knowing that as you pray, even in your own bad situation, you are helping others who may also be experiencing hard times.

I wish each of you a Happy Thanksgiving, and thank you all for your support of Whosoever.

Blessings,
Candace
